Brother Odd by Dean Koontz

This the third Odd Thomas book is better than the second but still doesn't capture the magic of the original. Koontz is prolific, yet is still able to produce quality work every time. In this book we find Odd living as guest in a monastery. Odd's peace is broken by the arrival of the bodachs. Madness, death and destruction go up against monks wielding baseball bats! Go Odd!

D-E-D Dead! by Geoffrey McGeachin

Another fast paced adventure from Geoffrey McGeachin with a surprising cameo from Martin and Faith that make this a 'sort of' sequel to Fat Fifty and F***ed! I love this guys books, can't wait for the next one!

Fat Fifty and F***ed! by Geoffrey McGeachin

McGeachin's first novel. Martin, a tired, fat and fifty year old country bank manager steals a million from his own bank, goes on the run and becomes entangled in international crime and corruption at the highest levels of government. Lots of fun and an easy read. Well done.

Underground by Andrew McGahan

Australia is a police state, its illegal to be Muslim, Canberra has been wiped out by a nuclear bomb. A powerful comment on the state of political affairs in Australia today with a frightening outlook for the future. A rollicking adventure. Not McGahan's best book, but an enjoyable and thought provoking read.

Reddit

Q & A by Vikas Swarup - Highly recommended tale of a young Indian waiter (Ram) who is arrested for winning a quiz show. Ram is accused of cheating by the producers of the show. Each chapter of the book reveals how he actually drew on life experiences to answer each question correctly. Bookclub material this one. 4/5
